To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the start of the New Deal, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will mount a major special exhibition that explores the dramatic and nation-changing "First 100 Days" of FDR's Presidency in the William J. vanden Heuvel Gallery.

Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will present an author talk and book signing with Curtis Roosevelt, author of Too Close to the Sun: Growing Up in the Shadow of my Grandparents, Franklin and Eleanor, at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center on Sunday, November 9, at 2:00 p.m. Following the talk, Mr. Roosevelt will be available to sign copies of his book. For information call (845) 486-7745.

Holiday Open House - Book Fair, Santa, and Crafts

The FDR Presidential Library and Home of FDR National Historic Site will
have several holiday offerings on Saturday, December 13.
From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
children and their parents are invited to come to the Henry A. Wallace Center
and make holiday cards to send to the men and women serving on the USS
Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, a U.S. Navy missile destroyer. Children
can have their picture taken with Santa at no charge.
Also on the 13th, The Roosevelt Library and Teaching the Hudson Valley will host a children's book
fair at the Wallace Center. From 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Hudson Valley authors will
read from and talk about their books. This is a free public event with
book signings, live music, and entertainment. Families are encouraged to attend.
The FDR Presidential Library and Museum will also be open for extended hours
on the 13th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with free admission.
The National Park Service will also hold a Holiday Open House at the
Home of FDR National Historic Site on Saturday, December 13, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
These evening hours will also be free of charge.
