"The world we live in today is
Franklin Roosevelt's world."

Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.

Franklin D. Roosevelt served as President for an unprecedented
twelve years, challenging Americans to overcome their fears.

He lifted the spirits of a Depression-weary population,
encouraging Americans to share his optimism.

As architect of the New Deal, he reinvented government to serve
the people's needs creating programs that are fundamental today.

When democracy was threatened by Nazis, fascists and
other imperialists around the world, FDR led the way to victory,
never losing sight of the goal of a lasting peace.

The leadership of Franklin Roosevelt brought about
an era of strong democracies, unprecedented
prosperity, and social change.

Now, 125 years after his birth,
we salute the world of
Franklin D. Roosevelt.
