Collection Historical Note

Richard E. Connell was the Democratic nominee for United States Representative from New York in 1910. His district roughly corresponded to that in which Franklin Roosevelt ran for New York State Senate, and the two campaigned together. Both were successful, and Connell served in the Sixty-Second Congress from March 4, 1911, until his death on October 30, 1912.
