This collection consists mainly of John Cudahy's correspondence with Franklin Roosevelt from his diplomatic posts in Warsaw, Dublin, and Brussels.

Collection Historical Note

John Cudahy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 10, 1887. Trained as a lawyer, he served in a number of diplomatic posts during Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidency: Ambassador to Poland (1933-1937); Minister to Ireland (1937-1939); and Ambassador to Belgium and Minister to Luxembourg (1937-1939). John Cudahy died on September 6, 1943.
