This collection consists of one folder of materials. These materials are primarily correspondence related to a range of professional matters, particularly to the scheduling of Chatauqua speakers. Correspondents include William Jennings Bryan, Harry S. Truman, and Charles B. Coates.
Collection Historical Note
Charles F. Horner began his career as the founder in 1906 of the Redpath-Horner Chautauqua and Lyceum Bureau in Nebraska. In 1933 he joined Franklin Roosevelt's administration as executive assistant to the administrator of the National Recovery administration. He worked briefly as Technical Advisor to the Asministrator of the New York WPA (1935), later serving as president of the National Aeronautics association, chairman of the Willkie clubs (1940), and chairman of the Herbert Hoover committee on food for small democracies (1940-41).
