Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection consists of one letter and three news clippings related to Daggett Howard's appointment as assisstant to Samuel I. Rosenman on the latter's 1945 Special Mission to Europe.
Collection Historical Note
Daggett H. Howard began his government career in 1943 with the Lend-Lease Administration. He later worked for the Foreign Economic Administration and as executive assistant to the special assistant to the president. After World War II, he worked on the Marshall Plan and war settlement issues and as a lawyer for the Civil Aeronautics Board. After serving in the Department of the Air Force, he practiced law in Washington, D.C. He died in 1998.
