This collection is comprised of an unplublished manuscript, "America's Natural Resources: Landmarks in their Use and Conservation" written by Padover and an index to the manuscript. The manuscript was intended for official publication by the Department of the Interior, but World War II led to a rearrangement of priorities.

Saul K. Padover, an historian by training, was Assistant to the Secretary of Interior from 1938-1943.
