Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection consists of two folders of materials. These include original correspondence from Eleanor Roosevelt to Elinor S. Hendrick and copies of correspondence between James P. Hendrick and Eleanor Roosevelt. Also included is a copy of an article about Eleanor Roosevelt by Elinor Hendrick.

Collection Historical Note

James P. Hendrick was a State Department advisor to Eleanor Roosevelt when she served as U.S. delegate to the United Nations General Assembly.

Accruals: After the initial acquisition of James Hendrick/Eleanor Roosevelt correspondence from the Truman Library, additional correspondence between the Hendricks and Eleanor Roosevelt and the copy of Elinor Henrick's article on Eleanor Roosevelt were donated by Elinor Hendrick and accessioned on March 20, 1985.
