This collection consists of research materials collected by author Mordecai Lee. Materials relate to Lowell Mellett, the Office of Government Reports, and the National Emergency Coucil, and primarily include copies of primary and secondary sources. Lee's own writings also appear in several files.

A former member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate, Mordecai Lee is a professor of Government Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His extensive scholarly publications include The First Presidential Communications Agency: FDR's Office of Government Reports (State University of NY Press, 2005), Institutionalizing Congress and the Presidency: The U.S. Bureau of Efficiency, 1916-1933 (Texas A&M Press, 2006), and Promoting the War Effort: Robert Horton and Federal Propaganda, 1938-1946 (Louisiana State Press, 2012) several other books, as well as numerous journal articles.
