Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection consists primarily of materials related to the death and funeral of Franklin D. Roosevelt. These materials include correspondence, official United States Military Academy documents, and a typescript of the Abner McGehee's narrative "When F.D.R. Came Home." Also included are copies of two military citations. (One folder.)

Collection Historical Note

Colonel Abner J. McGehee was a training officer at the United States Military Academy at West Point. In 1945 he supervised the cadet ceremonies for Franklin D. Roosevelt's funeral at Hyde Park, New York.
