This collection contains correspondence between Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt or Sara Delano Roosevelt with Elliott Roosevelt and Ruth Googins Roosevelt/Eidson between 1929 and 1952. The letters concern events in their personal lives and mutual acquaintances.

Collection Historical Note

Elliot Roosevelt was the fourth child of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. During World War II, Elliot was a pilot and unit commander in the US Air Force.  After the war, he had a varied career in communications, buisness, politics, and as a co-author of several Roosevelt family biographies.
