Collection Historical Note

The Franklin D. Roosevelt Home Club was organized on January 22, 1929. The stated object of the club was "to uphold and advance the interest of Franklin D. Roosevelt..." During FDR's governorship and Presidency the club met regularly and was active in local political affairs. After FDR's death the club met less and less frequently, and its main function became participation in the annual Memorial Day Services at the Roosevelt Estate. The club finally disbanded in 1975.
