Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Second Service Command, Special Service Branch collection consists of Activity Books with "Morale Minutes" bulletins, one act plays, and music and lyrics used for the entertainment of personnel. The collection also includes photographs and miscellaneous printed materials.
Collection Historical Note
The Army Service Forces was one of three components of the United States Army. The ASF was divided into nine Service Commands. The Second Service Command region included Delaware, New Jersey, and New York, and was headquartered at Governor's Island, New York. The ASF, originally called Services of Supply, was responsible for supplying the U.S. Army.
