Scope and Contents of the Materials

This is an artificial collection of selected archival materials identified as intrinsically significant. Selections were made by Roosevelt Library archivists on the basis of a given document's historical, iconic, or research value as a single item, independent of its larger archival context. Documents date from 1882 through 1962 and represent major themes and events in the lives of both Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. Selections are drawn from across the Library's archival collections and include materials such as personal and official correspondence, speeches, and ephemera.
