Series 2: Eleanor Roosevelt Significant Documents - Selections in this series document the major themes and events in the life of Eleanor Roosevelt. Materials date throughout her lifetime, 1884-1962, the bulk dating between 1933 and 1962, or the White House years and beyond. Selections reflect her youth; her time as First Lady; her work as delegate to the United Nations; as an activist for both human rights and civil rights; and her many relationships with key international political figures of the twentieth century. Materials include both personal and official correspondence; speech and article writing materials; and memorabilia. Correspondents include Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Lyndon B. Johnson, Frances Perkins, Harry S. Truman, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
