Abstract

The John Cooper Wiley Papers consist of official and personal material relating to Wiley's work as foreign officer for the United States. The majority of the material is from the years 1915-1967.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The John Cooper Wiley papers contain a large amount of material related to Ambassador Wiley's various diplomatic posts. The majority of the material in this collection is official in nature and includes correspondence, memoranda, and pamphlets related to the Soviet Union, Great Britain, France, Latin America and other countires of interest to Wiley's career. This collection also contains a substantial amount of printed materials related to American foreign policy, the Soviet Union and foreign service reorganization. The amount of personal material in within Wiley's papers is limited.
