Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection contains correspondence between Elliott and Minnewa Bell Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt, Mrs. Alphonzo Bell, and others, several of Elliott Roosevelt's radio scripts, clippings, printed booklets, and photographs.
Collection Historical Note
Daughter of a prominent West Coast businessman, Minnewa Bell became in Elliott Roosevelt's fourth wife 1951. In 1960, the couple divorced, and Bell became actively involved in her family's businesses. During her marriage Ms. Bell became close to her mother-in-law, Eleanor Roosevelt, and remained so for the rest of Mrs. Roosevelt's life.

Minnewa Bell has donated copyright of her unpublished writings to the Federal Government. Copyrights of the writings of Eleanor Roosevelt have been retained. Information regarding copyrights should be sought from her literary executor, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr.
