The trip from Seattle, WA to Washinton, DC was made at a leisurely pace too, permitting FDR and members of his party an opportunity for a bit of rest and to work on the large mail that we received on arrival at Bremerton, WA. The weather enroute was generally cloudy and cool with light rain prvailing from Spokane, WA eastward as far as Western Minnesota. The train attracted considerably more attention on the eastboand trip because of the general knowledge of FDR's presence in the Northwest Pacific area only a few days previously.
