FDR disembarked from the USS Houston for a tour of inspection of the Canal Zone and environs. He was accompanied by the President of Panama and various Civil, Military, and Naval Officials.

FDR and his party disembarked at Colon, Panama Canal Zone and entered waiting automobiles. A drive was then taken through Colon, France Field, Naval Air Station, Submarine Base, Fort Randolph, Fort Davis, and finally to the Upper Gatun Locks.

FDR's party boarded the USS Houston which sailed at 1920 for Old Providence Island.
