Thumbnail of FDR's Rocking Horse The First Fifty Years Gallery, located on the museum's main floor, traces the early life and career of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Included in the exhibits are FDR's baptismal gown , bassinet, early letters to his mother and memorabilia from his school days.

Visitors also can view items from FDR's marriage to his fifth cousin Eleanor Roosevelt and memorabilia from FDR's years of service as New York State Senator, Assistant Secretary of the Navy under President Woodrow Wilson, and Governor of the State of New York.
