book

Franklin Roosevelt attended Groton in Massachusetts; a school designed to prepare students for entry into college. Franklin was involved in a number of activities while at Groton. He was on the football and debate teams, and he appeared in the senior class play. His grades were respectable but not outstanding.

Endicott Peabody, the Headmaster at Groton described FDR this way, "He has been a thoroughly faithful scholar and a most satisfactory member of this school throughout his course. I part with Franklin with reluctance".

Franklin learned many things on his own through reading books and traveling through Europe with his parents.
