Original caption reads: "Pfc. Hugo J. Wagner (left), Ferdernan, Indiana, and Pfc. Albert W. Weaver, Mt. Vernon, N.Y., in a pillbox which had been occupied by Japs a few hours earlier. Only 50 yards away are Jap positions with more pillboxes. The Jap helmet and rifle were what the Jap left behind when he fled and was shot to death by American troops. Myitkyina Task Force, Burma."
