Description:
Original caption reads: "FIRE! - Grenoble, France. Members of French Forces of the Interior, formed into a firing squad, carry out the death sentence of a French military tribunal, meted out to six young frenchmen convicted of collaborating with the Germans. The executed men, shown tied to stakes, also had been members of a militia formed by the Vichy government after the 1940 armistice. Execution took place in Grenoble's public square where 22 French patriots had been shot to death by Germans during the occupation. Hundreds watched this shooting, despite a driving rainstorm."
