Description:
Caption on back reads: "Fury in the Pacific - the camera lands in the Palaus. Made by combat cameramen of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Army Air Force, the movie Fury in the Pacific preserves for history and the people at home today the Way of War - the danger, the haphazard finger of death, choosing whom it will, and the nighmarish fatigue. It tells the story of the capture of the islands of Peleliu and Angaur in the Palaus, in operations similar to the invasion of Iwo Jima. The film is being distributed Warner Brothers under the aegis of the War Activities Committee of the Motion Pictures Industry. Despite the intense pre-invasion air and surface bombardment, the Japs were still able to hurl a deadly screen of fire at the first waves of Marines ashore on Peleliu. They dug in on the beach until their numbers increased to a strength sufficient to smash their way inland."
