Collection Historical Note
John Cudahy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 10, 1887. Trained as a lawyer, he served in a number of diplomatic posts during Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidency: Ambassador to Poland (1933-1937); Minister to Ireland (1937-1939); and Ambassador to Belgium and Minister to Luxembourg (1937-1939). John Cudahy died on September 6, 1943.
