This collection consists of one folder of materials. These materials include copies of diary entries, correspondence, and memos relating to Herbert Hoover's responses to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
Collection Historical Note
The 31st President of the United States, Herbert Hoover served from 1929 to 1933, when he was succeeded by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Though a proponent of neutrality at the the outbreak of Wolrd War II, after the Japanese attack in 1941, he called for total victory over the Axis and offered his services to the Roosevelt administration.
