Scope and Contents of the Materials
Hardy Steeholm was the democratic representative in the campaign for New York's 26th Congressional district. This collection contains the manuscript of The House at Hyde Park, as well as a report written for the US Commissioner of Education on Problems of Defense jointly written with his wife Clara. This collection contains materials collected for Steeholm's1940 campaign against the republican incumbent Hamilton Fish. Such materials include lists of statistics on Fish's voting record and prior actions, and newspaper clippings.
