Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Schary Papers include within the singular folder, a handwritten outline and summary of the "Sunrise at Campobello" play written by Schary. Thereunder are various advertisements, and newspaper and magazine clippings from late 1957 to early 1958 about the success of the play. A"My Day" column written by Eleanor Roosevelt after seeing the play is also included.
Collection Historical Note
Dore Schary was a motion picture director, writer, producer, and playwright who became head of production and eventually president at Metro-Goldwyn Mayer.
