Chief Ship's Clerk Terry returned with transcript of President's dictation and found FDR, Harry L. Hopkins, Prime Min. Winston S. Churchill, and Churchill's son Capt. Randolph Churchill conferring. In the next two hours the final draft of a cable to Joseph V. Stalin reporting on the highlights of the meeting was agreed upon as was the text of a joint communique to be issued the next day to the press.

Note: The start time is described as shortly after midnight. It is not stated when the meeting started. Harold Macmillan and Min. Murphy left at 0210. Winston S. Churchill and his son left at 0230. FDR retired a few minutes later.

Maj. Gen. Charles de Gaulle went in to talk with FDR. He had arrived while Gen. Giraud was in conference with FDR. Harry L. Hopkins, Min. Robert D. Murphy, and Harold Macmillan were present.

FDR, Prime Min. Winston S. Churchill, Gen. Giraud and Gen. deGaulle repaired to the lawn in the rear of FDR's villa for pictures. The two generals shook hands. Then Gen. Giraud and Gen. deGaulle bade farewell to FDR and Winston S. Churchill and withdrew.

Press Conf. PC#875 (FDR, Prime Min. Winston S. Churchill) at ANFA Camp, Casablanca, Morocco - Allied agreements on: unconditional surrender of Axis Powers, Gen. Eisenhower as Supreme Allied Commander. Following the press conference FDR received Gen. Nogues to say "au revoir". At this time FDR also received Vice Adm. Michelier, the Commander-in-Chief of the French North African Fleet.
