Leader of NY Tammany Hall Edward V. Loughlin called for drafting a fourth term for President Roosevelt. He added that the President “must run regardless of his wishes because the people need him.”

His statement read in part: The blood that has been shed by our boys on the battlefield must not be in vain. The sacrifices that have been willingly accepted by Americans at home must be reinforced by an administration that is already leading the nation to victory and a just peace.”
