Party arrived at Livadia Palace, 2 miles south of Yalta, USSR. This was the US headquarters during the Crimea Conference. W. Averell Harriman's daughter, Kathleen Harriman, was at Livadia to greet FDR and Mrs. John Boettiger. Worn out from the trip, the party retired early. Prime Min. Winston S. Churchill's party proceeded separately from FDR's, and went to Vorontsov Villa (about 12.5 miles south of Livadia), British HQ for the conference. Commr's. Tyree and Smith, Maj.
