Murphy, Special Representative of FDR, on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief North African Forces, visited FDR and remained for 10 min, departing at 5:30 PM Preparatory to a conference of the Combined Chiefs of Staff scheduled for 1730, Prime Min. Winston S. Churchill arrived at FDR's villa and introduced to him the following listed British officers: H. R. L. G. Alexander, Sir Arthur Tedder, Hastings L. Ismay. |

Eisenhower, and Brig. Gen. J. R. Deane. "Foreign Relations of the United States" has this meeting ending at 1900. |

Following the departure of the conferees, W. Averell Harriman and Lord Leathers called on FDR and remained until 1935. During the afternoon, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr. had been informed of FDR's arrival at Casablanca and he accordingly took up quarters in FDR's villa, thus making the household 4 persons: FDR, Harry L. Hopkins, Elliott Roosevelt, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr.. These 4 were joined at dinner by Gen. George C. Marshall, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Robert Murphy. |
