Arrived at Kneohe Bay. Air Station is a new station and is the headquarters of Commander Fleet Air Wing Two, Pacific Fleet. FDR was met by Rear Adm. J. D. Price and Capt. H. M. Kindell, the Commanding Officer. The Party was first taken to the control tower atop lofty Kaneohe Peak. This height afforded FDR a splendid view of the entire air station and the surrounding bay and country. From the control tower we toured the station and then proceeded to the waterfront where FDR paused for a few minutes to look over two cabin cruisers that had been fitted up for him to do a bit of fishing from. Lack of time, however, forced him to reluctantly cancel the fishing expedition for this afternoon.
